Canada's medal count is now at 7, with these ladies right here winning a silver in Eight Rowing.
The Canadian women's basketball team won 79-73 against Brazil, advancing them into the quarter-finals.
On the football field....
The US team played New Zealand, beating them 2-0 with goals from Sydney Leroux and Abby Wambach. They were cocky as usual, celebrating with cartwheels and such, which drew criticism. But to be honest, if I were a player on the USWNT, I'd be fucking cocky too.
One of the highlights was definitely Sydney Leroux's face after she scored her first Olympic goal. Girl's lucky Lauren Cheney was strong enough to handle her.
Canada played Great Britain, getting an early lead with goals by Jonelle Filigno and our lovely captain. Erin McLeod was in net, which made a lot of people happy, as you can see below in a tumblr post.
The goals. First by Jonelle Filigno, the second by Christine Sinclair.
And more hugs to make you cry because holy shit, Canada is going to the semi-finals.
By the way, we're playing the US team in the semi-finals. Our record against them is 0-22-4.
SHIT. THEM AND THEIR CARTWHEELS.
